Not all practitioners who provide orthodontic treatment are trained and licensed orthodontic specialists. Although your general dentist is permitted to provide treatment for orthodontic problems, only orthodontic specialists (licensed orthodontists) have received 2-3 years of additional full-time education and training specifically in orthodontics after receiving their dental degree. In addition, orthodontists are required to undergo additional board examination and licensure.

Dr. Driscoll received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI in 1988, her D.D.S. from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, MI in 1998, and her M.S. in Orthodontics from the Baylor College of Dentistry a Member of the Texas A&M University Health Science System, in Dallas, TX in 2000.  Her professional achievements include Certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, as well as publications in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Dental Research. She also served for 7 years on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Driscoll opened her orthodontic practice in Lapeer, MI in January of 2003. Prior to opening her own practice, she worked as an orthodontist for two years in Rochester, MI.

It is Dr. Driscoll's mission to help each patient achieve a beautiful, self-confident smile that they can enjoy for a lifetime. Dr. Driscoll believes that each patient is a unique individual and that it is important to consider the needs of the patient as a whole, rather than just their teeth.

Not all orthodontists are Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. To achieve this status an orthodontist must demonstrate excellence through rigorous examination of their work periodically throughout their career.
